The world is going through some serious changes. As COVID vaccines slowly make their way through the country and world, people are hoping to be able to go out soon and enjoy the upcoming summer season in a relatively normal manner. However, a return to normal is still a few months off.
Right now, you are better off still protecting yourself indoors and playing some video games or watching the recently released Snyder Cut of Justice League. When not enjoying the hottest new titles like Valheim or Loop Hero or old favorites, have a laugh with any of the ten memes below. You may even see some celebrities.
10 NSFW, Maybe?
You were likely a little shocked to see the caption and then relieved to see the picture was Henry Cavill playing The Witcher 3. As many already know, the actor portrays Geralt of Rivia in the live action Witcher series. Henry Cavill is often seen as a leading cause of global warming for how he raised the world’s temperature several degrees when he posted pictures of himself building a computer.
9 The Roof Is On Fire
Crypto mining is a point of controversy among the tech community. Many decry its severely negative impact on the environment. This meme is poking fun at this idea. It uses up so much energy, the warmth will melt the snow on your roof. Either this is a crypto miner, or someone has a greenhouse inside their apartment. Regardless, we hope they alone are footing the electric bill.
8 It Takes A Lot Of Skill To Buy A $15 Skin
A lot of older gamers miss the days of unlockable content. You used to have to achieve certain requirements before being able to use a certain character or costume. Now most of them are for sale. A few games still allow you to earn them the old fashioned way, like Resident Evil 2 and 3’s remakes. Battle passes kind of split the difference, though you still have to invest more money.
7 Ugly Created Character
Creating a good looking character in a video game is an art form. Some games do their best to make any character look good, while in others it seems downright impossible to craft a visually pleasing avatar.
FromSoftware’s Dark Souls games, Bloodborne included, are notorious for some wonky character creators. Fortunately, the player character never sheds tears in those. In games where a character does cry, they often appear like the above picture.
6 …And It’s Disgusting
The idea of what men want versus what they really desire are often wildly different. The stereotype would have you believe it is something carnal, but in reality all men want is a remaster of Need For Speed Underground 2. They definitely got something just as good with the Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remaster last year. While plenty of women love their racing games too, the joke is still easy to appreciate.

4 The Friends We Never See Again
Oftentimes the people we play with online are forgettable. However, every once in a while you find someone and really hit it off. At the end of a night of playing some Call of Duty or Rainbow Six you promise to play again soon, but then you never see them again. Compounding the mystery is looking at the person’s profile and seeing that they never played again afterwards.
3 At Least It’s Progress
You never forget your first Dark Souls experience. Without any prior knowledge on the series, you spend hours seemingly banging against a wall or stepping on a rake while figuring out how the systems work.
Finally beating it is a feeling like no other. It does not mean you mastered it, however. Playing through it again will not be cakewalk. You’ll still be dying a lot, but at least you kind of know what you are doing.
2 Selling And Buying Yourself
Cyberpunk 2077 has been in the news for the past few years, but the press turned sour once the game came out. It is extremely glitchy and some parts of the design caused controversy. However, none of this has negatively affected Keanu Reeves, who stars in the game as Johnny Silverhand. Seen here buying a figure of his character, Keanu still takes time out of his day and money out of his wallet to support the game.
1 It Was 20 Years Ago Today, Final Fantasy 10 Was The Game To Play
Gaming is still a relatively new medium when compared to film or literature. This makes it all the more shocking to realize that games from 2001 are now turning 20 years old. In addition to Final Fantasy 10, Metal Gear Solid 2, Grand Theft Auto 3, and Silent Hill 2 are all completing their second decade. While we are happy to congratulate the games on their birthdays, we also bemoan how old this makes us feel.
