Even though spring is finally upon us, many gamers are still spending time indoors with video games. It is still safer to stay inside while deep in the middle of the intense vaccine rollout. More likely than not if you are playing a new game, it is Outriders from developer People Can Fly.

Unfortunately, this title has been having some server problems. If you are currently having trouble connecting, why not pass the time until the game runs better by looking at the funniest memes of the week? Outriders will be fixed soon, so have a good laugh in the meantime.

10 Time Waits For No One

It isn’t only scary to think people born in the early 90s are turning 30. It is equally terrifying to realize the 90s is slowly becoming 30 years ago. Back in 1990, 30 years ago was 1960, which already seemed ancient by then. Time moves on and things change, but time passing just reminds us of our mortality. Better not to think about it and play video games. Just make sure that game isn’t Metal Gear Solid 4, because it is all about aging.

9 Couch Co-Op Goodness

Finding a game with couch co-op is not the only thing you have to worry about. If your girlfriend or significant other is not experienced in gaming, the games they’ll enjoy are hard to find. Hazelight Studios’ It Takes Two seems like a sure thing for some co-op gaming fun. The recent release includes a ton of gameplay variety and fun humor mixed in with a sincere story. It is still challenging at times, though.

8 Get Them While Their Hot

Gamers cannot resist a free thing. Oftentimes a popular multiplayer game will offer a free skin, which results in something resembling the above image. We have respect for the several people in the picture who decided not to embrace the free skin. Either they bought their own or they play the game for fun and do not care about how their character looks. Skins feel even weirder in first-person games like Call of Duty.

7 But At Least We Played It Earlier

It is sad to realize, but the above picture is often the case. Early adopters run the risk of playing a buggy mess. Even afterwards they still have to pay full price for additional DLC.

Patient gamers, on the other hand, wait a year or two until a completed addition goes on sale. By this point, patches have come out and the whole experience is more enjoyable. In Cyberpunk 2077’s case, we wonder if it will ever truly be fixed.

6 U-G-L-Y, You Do Have An Alibi

We are usually against crude usernames, but we have to respect the dedication to the joke here, even if it hurts our feelings. Is winning a multiplayer game important enough to be turned into an ugly person? This leads to deeper questions, like how does this player have the power to do this? Maybe it’s worth having a face only a mother can love just to have a high place on the leaderboard.

5 Magic

This meme says “9 year old me”, but honestly plenty of adults are probably still stunned at this display. Does an expert driver maneuver it in this place after hours? Maybe the car was there first and they built the whole mall around it. Whatever the answer is, we want to know who is in control of the car keys and how we can have them.

4 A Piece Of History

Anyone who has spent time on the Internet is familiar with the rick roll. People post a link to something exciting and the link turns out to be this song. Rick Astley, the singer of Never Gonna Give You Up, has seemed to fully embrace his place in Internet culture. The above picture shows someone holding what appears to be the microphone from this song, a true piece of history. It belongs in a museum.

3 Old Saves Die Hard

Gamers often leave a game unfinished, either due to frustration or just getting burned out on a particular title. The spark might light up again years later, but then you have the problem of playing an old save file you hardly remember. Do you erase the file and start from the beginning or do you try your best and pick up from where you left off? This phenomenon is especially prevalent in open-world RPGs with numerous systems.

2 Streaming Problems

How does NASA stream such a high quality image of a planet an almost unimaginable distance away from us, yet we can barely get a decent 720p image from our gaming stream?

Those who stream professionally and rely on fast Internet connections must be wizards. Maybe one day the Internet will be truly ubiquitous and free, letting everybody stream a clear image from their games. Until then, we will suffer with subpar connection speeds.

1 It’s Like Playing A Movie

Games try to wow players with magnificent opening cutscenes, only to disappoint them when he visuals during gameplay are not up to the same standard. Some games manage to look just as good in both areas, however. Hideo Kojima’s games, for example, generally look the same in gameplay and cinematics. This is less of a problem in modern games, since graphics in general are just getting better and better.
