Developer Ninja Theory has taken the reigns for a reboot of Capcom’s Devil May Cry series and has been making a few, not so minor, adjustments. Main man Dante’s new look has been met with backlash from fans. He’s younger, hipper, slightly more emo and missing his signature white do. Even Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya isn’t too fond of the changes. Like it or not, DmC is heading in a new direction.
This new, extended cut of the Devil May Cry TGS 2011 trailer highlights these changes and is a minute longer than the original version, opening with a brief intro by the English voiced Dante informing us that demons are everywhere around us, which sets the theme for the trailer and most likely the game.
In fact, the trailer seem to be hinting that everything Dante encounters only he, or those capable, can see. Faint figures of normal people walk the streets, completely unaware as world shifts and distorts around them. Dante embraces it, easily navigating the eerie, trippy landscape, busting some heads along the way. Set to a heavy rock/metal soundtrack, of course.
He starts out simple enough with Ebony & Ivory, his favorite dual handguns and quickly moves to some of the more over the top weaponry, all while effortlessly kicking ass. That’s what this series is all about: absolutely decimating your enemies, with style.
