Ever get whisked away to another world - say, a one filled with fantasy tropes and women with paper-thin personalities? Congrats, you might be an isekai protagonist. The isekai genre is built on schmoes dying and getting reincarnated as the most special boy that’s ever been special, a dumb creature of some kind, or a small angry child that loves genocide.

The latest one of these things, due out this year, is The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist: A Drugstore Built on an Alternate World. This series will follow a wage slave that gives up his dead-end job and pursues a more fulfilling life in the countryside. But shortly thereafter, he realizes that he’s actually found himself in an alternative world. The strapping lad discovers that he has a hidden affinity for potion-making, so he winds up opening a drug store. His makeshift Walgreen’s winds up attracting a bevy of interesting customers, and thus begins his journey into slinging drugs to catgirls.

Our question is if he sells other stuff, too. Is there candy at checkout? Does he cut a deal with greeting card companies and shell those, too? Are there fantasy condoms stocked behind the counter, and if so, how many varieties of condoms are there in a world inhabited by monsters? The mind boggles.

In any case, Cheat Pharmacist seems like a cute idea for a show, and honestly, that catgirl looks really hella cute. I’ll be checking this one out when it rolls out sometime this year.
