This is the portable N64 that Nintendo should really start making now so that it’s here in time for the holidays.

The Switch has proven that portable consoles are not dead. In fact, they’re better than ever. Now you can connect your console to your TV or take it with you wherever you want to go.

This portable N64 doesn’t quite have the Switch’s docking capabilities, but who cares? It’s a portable N64! That means Ocarina of Time whenever and wherever you want!

YouTuber smackedsam showcased his prototype portable N64 a few weeks ago and has now returned with the Slipstream 2, an upgraded model that just looks better in every way. The case is a lovely shade of blue, it’s smaller, and it has buttons in all the right places. The control stick is taken from a GameCube controller, while the buttons are colored to mirror the same ones you’d get on an actual N64 controller.

You slot N64 cartridges in the back with a memory slot just below where the cartridge goes. The Expansion Pak is built-in, so there’s no need to worry about not being able to play Perfect Dark.

Although smackedsam was selling these on Etsy, they’re unfortunately all sold out. So now the only solution is for Nintendo to buy the design and start making them. We’re sure there’s a market.
