For PC players, a new Monster Hunter: World mod will greatly improve your game’s performance.

Monster Hunter: World was initially just for consoles, but Capcom soon realized that there was money to be made on the PC market. So they ported the game over to PC, sold it on Steam, and now Monster Hunter: World is the biggest Monster Hunter game ever made.

However, World’s PC port was never particularly well optimized for computers. It’s certainly gotten better since the game’s release, but there are still bits of code running that don’t really do anything except slow things down.

Enter the Performance Booster And Plugin Extender Mod by AsteriskAmpersand. This mod improves Monster Hunter’s performance on PC by removing CRC (cyclic redundancy check) code. You can get the mod on NexusMods, but you’ll also need Stracker’s nativePC loader in order to get it to work.

Unfortunately, as mod for an online game, it’s likely to break the next time Capcom updates Monster Hunter. Fortunately, Capcom has put all Monster Hunter development on hold due to COVID-19, so you should get quite a bit of use out of this mod before it needs to be updated.

In other news, two old Event Quests are available for Master Rank and above players: The Wrath of Thunder Descends and Talk About A Party Foul. These are both great ways to get Seal Feystones and Heavy Armor Spheres, respectively.

The Flying Meduso pendant is also available from Monster Hunter: World’s add-on page. And coming later this week is this absolutely adorable Tobi-Kadachi figurine. This 4" PVC statue is from the Ancient Forest Chibi Line from AnimeGami Studios and is the cutest darn thing we’ve ever seen! Pre-orders open on May 29, so mark your calendars.

We’re still waiting on Capcom for some official news. We’ll be sure to keep you informed as soon as the Japanese developer says anything.
