This week’s news in Apex Legends is quite tame but sure to be welcome by players. For starters, Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that patch 1.35 will be available this week on the PlayStation 4, but not on either Xbox One or PC platforms. The patch aims to fix several bugs present only on the PS4, including the playlist selector defaulting to Trios after completing a Ranked game or when switching Legends, the small orange Diamond D-pad cursor menu controls no longer working after obtaining loot, and small orange diamond crash fixes.

In other news relating to quality of life improvements, Respawn developer Josh Medina has stated that reconnection features to both casual and ranked matches, one of the most requested features in the game, are in the works and headed to the game soon. This should be a major relief to anyone who sees the dreaded server error “code:leaf” which seems to occur at the worst possible time during our matches.

In esports, concerns over Covid-19 have sidelined or cancelled most in-person competitive events, but many others remain online and will still see play. EA has stated that the Finals of the Apex Legends Global Series Online Tournaments will move up by a day to better correspond with the requests and schedules of those who are to play. The tournament will now take play May 2-3, and May 30-31.
