Apex Legends has extended Season 4 by one week, in light of the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, a new limited-time mode called Battle Armor will roll out on April 28, and run through May 12.

With the introduction of Evo Armor, new tips and strategies have emerged from the addition of this item in Apex’s System Collection event. It seems those new strategies are here to stay, thanks to Evo Armor now being a permanent thing in the game.

With the extension of Season 4, this gives players more time to grind on their Battle Pass to get those sweet season exclusive rewards. This grind could be made more exciting through the Battle Armor event, which will run for the next two weeks. As per event rules, every player automatically starts out with armor and a P2020 handgun however, armor of any kind will be removed from the loot pool.

The play area will have all items available except armor so make sure you conserve your starting armor. Jumping in with your basic white armor, the armor you start with gets progressively better each week with the Evo Armor being the highest tier. The Battle Armor event will close out Season 4, and start off Season 5. The schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, April 28 @ 10am PDT - Saturday, May 2nd @ 10am PDT: Level 1 White armor only.

  • Saturday, May 2 @ 10:01 am PDT - Wednesday, May 6 @ 10am PDT: Level 2 Blue armor only

  • Wednesday, May 6 @ 10:01am PDT - Saturday, May 9 @ 10am PDT: Level 3 Purple armor only

  • Saturday, May 9 @ 10:01 am PDT - Tuesday, May 12th @ 10am PDT Evo Armor only.

With other battle royale games like Call Of Duty: Warzone stepping up their game, the team looking to develop their gameplay system even further should make for some interesting changes for Apex Legends. As Season 5 draws near, we hope this experimental stage for Apex will not just be a temporary event, but also provide some useful data for developing gameplay mechanics that could provide for a more competitive season.
