This week in Destiny 2, the Guardian Games come to a close with Titans the clear victor.
The Guardian Games ends at 1 PM on Tuesday (EST), and it’s become clear over the last few weeks that Titans are the runaway victors. According to Bungie, Titans came out in force to outplay out-bounty-grind both Hunters and Warlocks to be dubbed the superior class, for better or for worse.
We have some thoughts on what actually might have led to the Titan’s crushing win in the Guardian Games, but we’re not going to retread old ground. Today is about the future, and what the future holds is Iron Banner.
Tuesday brings the last Iron Banner of Season of the Worthy, which means it’s also your last chance to complete the Iron Banner bounties for Pinnacle-tier rewards. It’s also your last chance to complete the Iron Banner quest for the Point of the Stag Ritual Weapon, a gorgeous bow that’s particularly useful in PvP activities.
Last week’s This Week At Bungie discussed how Destiny 2 plans to change it’s loot system starting in Year 4, along with a new transmogrification system that will turn armor into universal ornaments. It’s all very exciting, and definitely worth a read. Trials of Osiris will also now have a random map rotation to keep things fresh, with some recent changes helping to keep rampant cheating at bay.
But there’s a mystery developing in Season of the Worthy. The season ends on June 9th which leaves three whole weeks of no planned events. Surely, Bungie will wrap up the season by resolving the Almighty problem and showing us just what Rasputin has been building all these months, but so far, the developer has been playing their cards close to their chest. We have a few ideas on how things will end this season based on some datamined leaks, but nothing official.
Tune in next week when we hopefully find out just how the heck we’re going to stop a giant space station hurtling towards Earth.
