This week has brought big news with regards to the long-awaited overhaul of the base game Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. According to the latest Letter from the Producer livestream, game director Noki Yoshida and community manager Toshio Murouchi discussed at length what players can expect in this major update with the upcoming patch 5.3.
The new patch will not only bring new content in the form of quests and the continuation of the next major story quests. There’s also a significant shortening of the base game for newer players to level faster and reach the newer expansion content.
Unfortunately, issues relating to COVID-19 mean that the original expected launch of the new patch will see a delay ranging from a couple of weeks to a month. This puts the new drop date sometime in mid to late July, unless further delays happen.
The Mog Station has some fantastic new additions for those who want to look their best. Available for purchase right now is the Mheg Deaca Attire set, featuring the Mheg Deaca Circlet, Robe, Bottoms, and Boots. The Ruby Carbuncle Attire is also available featuring Carbuncle Ears, Jacket, and Boots, with Slippers available separately. Finally, the Rubellite Carbuncle Mount can be purchased, and is account wide.
