Two new items added to Fortnite this week allow players to avoid taking fall damage, and yes, the Deadpool skin has finally arrived.

Although a big week for Fortnite even without the Deadpool additions, it’s hard to look past the anti-hero finally breaking free from his bathroom office. Completing week seven of the Deadpool challenges allows players to transform into the Marvel menace. The Yacht has also been decked out in more Deadpool regalia than you can shake a stick at.

Prior to Deadpool’s arrival on the island, Epic added two new items to aid players in avoiding taking too much fall damage. The Kingsman Umbrella and the Crash Pad, both added via the 12.30 update earlier in the week. The umbrella can be used in much the same way as the ones from the movie from which it takes its name. As a shield to deflect bullets, and as a weapon to strike other players, but also in a Mary Poppins-like fashion to float down to the ground.

The Crash Pad is a little different, and its only use is to prevent fall damage. Players can set them up beneath them as they fall. It will break said fall, bounce them back into the air. Landing elsewhere after bouncing from a Crash Pad will not result in any fall damage. Now, excuse us while we return to wreaking havoc while dressed as Deadpool.
