Another week of indie releases with titles that span different genres for all types of players of any age.

Here are TheGamer’s picks for the indie games that you should check out this week (May 10 - May 16).

Jet Lancer (May 12 - PC, Switch)

Jet Lancer - from developers Vladimir Fedyushkin and Nicolai Danielsen - features aerial action that would fit right in with some of the earlier days of gaming. Fast and frenetic gameplay keeps things interesting, even though some of the missions are a bit cumbersome.

Huntdown (May 12 - PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)

Hunt down criminals (thus the title) in a lawless city as a bounty hunter in this 16-bit side-scrolling action platformer from developer Easy Trigger Games. 20 gritty levels within an 80s wasteland-styled setting give players plenty to do, with plenty of weapons to choose from.

Thy Sword (May 12 - PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)

Don’t let the cute, pixelated visuals and chiptune soundtrack fool you, Thy Sword - from developer/publisher GamePhase - looks like a brutal, bloody good time. A hack n’ slash platformer with procedural levels and roguelike elements, Thy Sword will provide players plenty of challenge and fun.

VirtuaVerse (May 12 - PC)

Developer Theta Division gets in on the cyberpunk genre hype with VirtuaVerse, a point-and-click adventure through a rainy, neon-filled dystopia to uncover the mysteries the cyber-city has to offer.

Island Saver (May 13 - PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)

Developer Stormcloud Games Limited’s Island Saver looks to be a fun romp through a whimsical world, akin to something like Gigatosaurus: The Game and Slime Rancher. Gamers of all ages can help clean up their island from the garbage and debris that has taken over.

Nimbatus - The Space Drone Constructor (May 14 - PC)

Nimbatus - The Space Drone Constructor - from developer Stray Fawn Studio - tasks players with exploring the far reaches of space in a sandbox environment, multiplayer matches, or the game’s story-based survival mode.

Phantom Path (May 15 - PC)

Explore the ruins of a lost ancient city while solving puzzles and finding treasure in developer/publisher KEYREAL’s top-down casual adventure, Phantom Path.
