Riot Games has been on a roll lately with its new games in beta, but there’s no rest for League of Legends. Patch 10.8 was announced and will see meta shifts with how Junglers operate, new skins, and further penalties for players who look to dodge.
To begin, Junglers are seeing changes to items like Hunter’s Machete and Skirmisher’s Blade, among others, require more reserved and passive strategy to farm. This means that ganking will more difficult in the early game. In fact, early game is slowing down overall with XP for shared kills between levels 1-6 going down by 20% but increasing the same amount for solo kills.
New skins are being released in the Coven style. LeBlanc, Morgana, and Zyra will all have a Coven skin. These can also expect new models, textures, and VFX in the near future.
Finally, players who attempt to dodge lobbies while selecting a champion will see greater punishments. This is important because the act of dodging is akin to an exploit, allowing one player to ditch a group they consider unfavorable, while subjecting the other nine players to another queue time. The time out for dodging has been extended, and LP reductions have been maximized to deter the act.
