After last week many are probably still working their way through Paper Mario: The Origami King or Ghost Of Tsushima, but just because the two biggest games of July have released doesn’t mean that the games just stop coming. No dear reader, the games keep on rolling along and if paper-thin Marios or vengeful samurai aren’t your bag, then perhaps you’ll find something you like in this week’s releases.

Here are just a few of the most exciting new releases for this week (July 19 - July 25):

Rock Of Ages 3: Make & Break (July 21 - PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Stadia)

Yes, the Monty Python-inspired game about rolling a boulder down a slope and smashing everything in your path has earned itself another sequel. Along with another wacky campaign that takes place across the course of history - and apparently involves the Spaghetti Monster? - you can now create your own Rock Of Ages courses for other players to bash their way through.

Creaks (July 22 - PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, iOS)

Creaks is a puzzle-platformer from the makers of indie game oddities like Samorost 3 or Chuchel. Our own Peter Glagowski reviewed it earlier this month and seemed to enjoy his time in the latest weird world from Amanita Design.

Crysis Remastered (July 23 - Switch)

There’s a good chance that many didn’t have the kind of powerhouse PC gaming set-up necessary to run Crysis when it originally came out. Yet, here we are around 13 years later and somehow the former graphical workhorse is being crammed into the Nintendo Switch. Will it look or run as well as it did on a high-end computer? Possibly not, but at least now you can play it during your commute.

Roki (July 23 - PC)

Scandinavian folklore is weird man. There’s all manner of trolls, elves, dwarves, gods, fairies, and other strange creatures. Roki puts you in the snow-filled boots of a little girl who must rescue her brother when he’s seemingly kidnapped by a giant monster. It’s quite a bizarre little adventure game and could be perfect for those who want to wander around a snowy wonderland where the trees literally have eyes.

Carrion (July 23 - Xbox One, Switch, PC)

The annoying thing about horror games is that you’re always the one being scared by monsters. That’s why Carrion is such a treat because this time you’re the one doing the scaring. If you’ve ever longed to be a monstrous scientist-devouring, multi-tentacled flesh-beast then Carrion may be the most enticing release of this week.
