Pokémon GO’s throwback events continue and by the end of this week, another Community Day will have been and gone.
The Pokémon GO scene remains as busy as ever, despite the world remaining gripped by a global pandemic. We are into week three of the game’s throwback challenges as this week Pokémon GO celebrates Gen III and the Hoenn region. Nine levels of research tasks to complete with various rewards and encounters are available throughout.
As has been the case for the past two Fridays, at 1 pm this Friday afternoon (local time) the Hoenn throwback event will come to an end. At that point, the Hoenn event will be replaced by a very similar Sinnoh one. This will be the last of the throwback events unless trainers manage to complete all four. Those trainers will be rewarded with a Throwback Challenge Champion event in June.
Other than throwback events, trainers should be gearing up for May’s Community Day right about now. It takes place this Sunday (May 24, 2020) and will focus on Gen III’s Seedot. As usual, the spotlighted Pokémon will spawn a lot more frequently for the duration of the event, and its shiny variant will make its debut. Niantic also revealed that trainers will be able to vote for the star of June’s Community Day this weekend. The options are between Sandshrew, Squirtle, Gastly, and Weedle. For details on how to cast your vote, stay tuned to TheGamer throughout the week.
