A brand-new mode is being added to PUBG Mobile on April 16 called Cold Front Survival. The new mode looks to be a completely distinct type of play from the battle royale that everyone knows and loves. The lead up to this new game mode has been interesting, to say the least, as the developers have teased its existence since early January but have revealed virtually nothing else about what players should expect.
Current speculation is divided mainly into two groups. First, Cold Front Survival might simply be a new map and not deviate from the formula of last player standing. Second, this might be a complete deviation from the battle royale, tasking players to focus more on finding supplies to survive in a cold, desolate landscape with the biggest danger being wild animals and exposure. If true, the mode would be strikingly like The Long Dark, at least as a concept.
In esports there is some sad news to report, as TSM has dropped their PUBG team after failing to find success in the recent events they have competed in. Michael “mykLe” Wake, René “Braexco” Rehling, and Rory “rawryy” Logue will still remain with the team as streamers and content creators, and it is only the formal squad that has been broken up for competitive events.
