This week Rainbow Six Siege introduced the Y5S1.2 Patch. There’s nothing too exciting happening with this update, but several bugs have been fixed and numerous operators were tweaked for a more balanced gaming experience.

For starters, the game now boots properly when manually selecting the Vulkan executable file in the Steam folder — an earlier bug caused the game to launch with DX11. There were also various cosmetic fixes including minor menu/shop adjustments, a weird lighting issue on the Consulate map, and the Dynamic Play button not updating properly.

As for operators, Jager has been changed to a 2-speed/2-armor operator, after previously being a 3-speed/1-armor player. Jager mains will probably have to change their playstyles because of this, and we’re curious to see how the competitive scene reacts to the news.

Buck has also seen a big change, as his Frag Grenades have been replaced with Claymores. Not only that, but the Skeleton Key magazine capacity has been increased to 5 +1 and max ammo has gone to 25 +1.

Players who were sick of seeing Goyo’s Vulcan shields spammed every match are in luck, as the fiery operator has been nerfed. Instead of deploying with three shields, they now enter each round with two.

There are a few other modifications introduced in this patch, so head on over to the official Rainbow Six Siege website for the complete patch notes. Until then, it’s time to start relearning how to play Jager.
