As expected, this week in The Sims 4 community discussion has been all about the new expansion. After the trailer last week, the reception to the new idea was mixed, with many voicing concerns. Now we have a gameplay trailer, and opinions are starting to slowly shift a little.
The gameplay trailer shows more new features as well as more footage of neighborhood action plans, community gardens, and makerspaces. We also found out more about the civil designer career, spotted candle making, a fizzy juice machine, and a fabricator machine that looks a little bit lethal! There is also dumpster woohoo and what appear to be insect recipes, giving the pack an interesting twist we didn’t expect.
The accompanying blog explains that we can furnish our house from the dumpster, utilize sustainable power, recycle unwanted items, and build brand new ones. The eco-footprint mechanics stretch throughout all worlds, except destination worlds and Strangerville, and can be turned off in the menu settings.
As more details come out, some players are starting to realize that there is a lot more to this pack than we’ve seen so far. With the announcement of a deep dive Livestream with SimGuruGeorge and SimGuruJill on May 21st at 11 am PDT, it will be interesting to see if the tide turns and more Simmers come around to the idea of this pack once we discover more.
The Livestream will be covering Create-A-Sim, Build and Buy, the new world, gameplay, and the accompanying free patch, which we already know will be bringing ladders to all. After the Livestream, it’s also likely that we will begin to find out more and more as the release date draws closer.
While Eco Lifestyle, which most of us still keep calling Eco Living after being conditioned by City Living and Island Living, draws most of our attention, another event has had an impact in The Sims 4 community this week.
The crowd-funded Paralives Studio has been working on a life-simulation game that looks set to bring a new option to gamers who love this genre. This week the in-development title, called Paralives, has made waves in the community with the unveiling of Parafolk. While the game is far from complete at this point, many Simmers are excited to find out more about what could be an alternative to TS4.
