Following on from the gameplay trailer last week, information about The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle is coming thick and fast. We now have a much broader overview of the build and buy items, create a sim lineup, and the gameplay. We’ve also discovered that the new free update is not just bringing us ladders but will also reintroduce firefighters to the game.

Overall it’s been an exciting week that’s also seen a select group of Game Changers release footage from limited access to an alpha build of the pack. We were also lucky enough to get our hands on the same build to bring you a preview of what’s to come.

The eventful week began with a huge and slightly chaotic deep dive Livestream from SimGuruGeorge. For once no one could blame Steve for anything, as George excitedly took us through the pack streaming from his home office, with a few other friendly voices appearing over voice chat.

The excitement and pride in the pack were evident as we learned more about neighborhood voting, N.A.P.s, maker spaces, community gardens, green energy, dumpsters, and a brand new trash system. There was so much to discover that the Livestream ran over two hours and still only skimmed the surface of most aspects of the upcoming expansion.

As is apparently now tradition with big reveals, the stream was ended by a magnificent troll, with the fire brigade appearing on screen while George mentioned nothing about them. Firefighters have been long requested and it was later confirmed that they will now be coming with the patch set to drop early next week.
