GIt’s hard to imagine that platform-exclusivity has been particularly helpful to the underwhelming adoption rate of VR, so it’s nice to see these games finally release on PSVR/PC so more players have access to them

Gorn was one of the first melee-arena fighters and VR and perhaps the silliest of them all. It quickly became popular among streamers on Twitch because it’s easy to pick up and play in short sessions.

Some VR games strive for a simulation-like experience with 1-1 controls, but part of Gorn’s success can be attributed to the way it leans into the limitations and unnatural elements of VR. The awkwardly proportioned characters and over-the-top violence don’t exactly scream “immersion” but the game is still a ton of fun to mess around in.

Gorn is coming to PSVR this Tuesday, it’s expected to release at the same price as the PC version, $19.99 USD.

The Persistence is a 2018 game from Firesprite LTD., developers of Playroom and Playroom VR. The horror-stealth game was a PSVR exclusive until now, so it will likely be unfamiliar to the vast majority of VR players. In fact, a non-VR version of the game is releasing on Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch as well.

The Persistence combines sci-horror with stealth gameplay for a unqiue roguelike experience. You play as a clone of security officer Zimri Eder, the last survivor on a shit caught in the pull of a black hole. The other crew members have been transformed into horrific murders and it is up to you to save the ship and warp back to earth.

A single-player experience, The Persistence is all about finding and upgrading dozens of weapons and gear while avoiding danger as you make your way across the doomed space vessel. It received generally favorable reviews when it released on PSVR in 2018, so we’re hopeful that the re-release still holds up.

The PSVR version is available now for $29.99 USD on the Playstation Store, it’s expected that the Xbox, PC, and Switch versions will be available for the same price.
