This week in World of Warcraft brings more signs suggesting that Ray tracing will be available with the upcoming launch of the Shadowlands expansion, as a new Ray Traced Shadows option appears visible in the current alpha build. Although the feature is not currently enabled for use, it would make sense to come with the newest drop in content later this year and given how dated the game looks compared newer offerings in the genre, will be a welcome change.
Regarding the release date of Shadowlands and concerns of a Covid-19 caused delay, a recent livestream interview featured by Wowhead reveals that the expansion is still on track for its original release window later in 2020. It appears that Blizzard has been able to weather the problems of social distancing quite well and by having its employees work from home has kept progressing in the creation of the next chapter of the game.
Finally, popular solo content runner Rextroy has completed what few thought would be possible so quickly, attaining the world first Hivemind solo, showing everyone his skills by taking down Il’gynoth, the Corruptor as a Protection Paladin. It was not the fasted kill, but it is always superbly impressive to see Rextroy dominate the mechanics of World of Warcraft to do what few others can pull off by himself.
