Tabletop roleplaying game creator Thought Police Interactive Studios recently called for community content contributors for the studios’ newly-announced community content program, The Secret Stacks. The program will allow fans of Thought Police Interactive many tabletop RPG products to create content based on and in published TPI material.

In a Call for Community Content Contributors (The Secret Stacks) post on the TPI website, the studio detailed the Stacks program by describing how it works, the requirements to contribute, and the rewards for contributing. TPI has a variety of roleplaying and storytelling games available exclusively on DriveThruRPG, so they have categorized the Stacks programs for accepted content between their popular Motif Game Framework (Motif Story Engine and Motif Action Engine), their other products, and supporting and derivative products made specifically for Astral Virtual Tabletop modules.

For Stacks community content involving the Motif Game Framework, TPI authorizes the creation of “anything from expansions to brand new core RPGs”, along with adapting “any story engine or game engine build used in any of our products.” TPI’s Motif Story Engine is a solo and GM-lite roleplaying toolkit that provides rules and guidance on how to use standard dice sets to solo-play your favorite tabletop RPG, or to play in a small group without the need for a dedicated GM. This system is called the dice oracle, and is designed to essentially take the place of a GM, reducing a solid amount of game set up time, and allowing gameplay to be created quickly and organically.

TPI also directs that content based on the Studios’ other, non-Motif products (Animatica, Arthur’s Legacy, Never Stop Smiling, Once We Were Beautiful, and Special Crimes 911) may be created for “supplementary materials and adaptations.” The Studio adds this may be “anything from local guides to encounter manuals to entire adaptations into other RPG systems” and provides examples of such works as “a d20 NEVER Stop Smiling, a Dungeon World Arthur’s Legacy, or a Fate SC911: Special Crimes 911”.

The Studio is also encouraging the creation of modules designed specifically for the Astral Virtual Tabletop, along with 3D models, card game adaptations, and fiction releases. Examples of acceptable works here include full card games, comics, short story collections, and more.

The post continues with specific details on how the program will work for this initial launch, the few requirements you will need to meet to contribute your content, and rewards for doing so. Connect with Thought Police Interactive via the studio’s Facebook and Twitter channels for further info.
