With a lineage stretching all the way back to 2001, the first Desperados is considered by many as a severely underrated cult-hit. The real-time tactical western-focused game is one of the only real entries in its genre, boasting an incredibly interesting concept with some solidly challenging gameplay to complement it.
That’s why Desperados 3, the long-awaited prequel to 2001’s Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, has already garnered a lot of excitement from its small but passionate community, with the game receiving a lot of traction online. Luckily for those excited for the new title, it seems the game finally has a release date too, with THQ Nordic and Mimimi Games announcing that the title will be debuting on June 16, 2020.
That’s obviously incredibly soon, with fans only having to wait under two months before they can finally get their hands on the next entry in the Desperados franchise. For those who aren’t aware of the upcoming game, it will see players take on a team of five ragtag outlaws who each come with their own abilities, skills, and weapons. The focus of the gameplay is mostly stealth-based with players attempting to get the drop on their enemies and organize daring ambushes, but shoot outs have been promised by the devs as well.
It seems THQ Nordic is on something of a roll recently, with SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated dropping in June as well. While the two titles couldn’t be more different, it’s great to see the company offering a variety of experiences for all players.
Desperados 3 is set to release on June 16 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
