Later this year we’ll be getting treated to Cris Tales - a charming, award-winning turn-based RPG that lets you play around with the fabric of time, among other things.
Developers Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK have created this bright, beautiful little game that’s being marketed as “an indie love letter to classic JRPGs with a new perspective.” That new perspective is primarily referring to the timebending mechanic, presumably. You’ll be joining a so-called Time Mage by the name of Crisbell on some fantastical adventures (that will apparently span more than 20 hours of gameplay) during which you’ll be able to experience past, present, and future all simultaneously. Whatever that means?
It’s a really cool concept though, and you can check out the game’s opening cinematic trailer here for a taste of what’s to come.
Cris Tales is scheduled to be released on November 17th this year for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, as well as Google Stadia. The PC demo is available right now for free via Steam, and has been updated with new enemies and a new Colosseum battle mode, so go check it out!
