Call of Duty Warzone is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. It is a well-crafted battle royale with new mechanics that change up the formula. The best part: it’s free. Call of Duty’s second battle royale adds the gulag, a chance to get back in the game via a one v one match.
It also includes the ability to use custom load-outs and respawn your teammates. It’s a somewhat realistic battle royale but players know how to make it interesting. The game allows for some freedom to make some crazy plays. Thanks to the Warzone Reddit page and all the players posting their crazy gameplay moments. This list does not highlight specific plays but outlines common gameplay feats that are possible in Warzone.
10 Spray/Tag People
Warzone lets players tag their environment with a spray can but some people found a more useful application. Youtuber jackfrags, who will be attributed throughout this list, realized that spraying people will make them stick out on the battlefield, especially in the Gulag. Spraying players is a fun tease but it has a tactical advantage. It’s hard to hide when you’re bright red and orange. Do this before you enter the Gulag and it may give you the advantage. That means spraying your squad members for fun may not be the best idea.
9 Stealth Kills
Many players may not know that Warzone has some small stealth mechanics. Sure, you can sneak up on enemies, camp out in a building, or hide in some bushes but there are also stealth kill animations. If you successfully sneak behind an enemy, you can hold down the melee button to execute a finisher move. This leads to a fun and stylish cutscene where your enemy is completely annihilated. Takedowns include fancy knife skills and even a cattle prod. This may be the best option when you’re out of bullets or deploy in the middle of a gunfight.
8 Run Enemies Over
This may seem common for battle royale but Warzone players love to do it. Whole squads can be taken out by a good driver. Vehicles are extremely noticeable on the map but extremely dangerous. There are tons of examples on the Reddit page mentioned above and some crazy plays by jackfrags. The craziest vehicle to use is the helicopter. Killing players with helicopter blades or by landing on top of them feels alarmingly good. Don’t worry, there are some cool ways to take out vehicles as well, which will be addressed below.
7 Snipe Enemies Out OF Vehicles
Nothing will ever match the pure joy of sniping an enemy driver and watching the vehicle aimlessly roll by. You will feel like the most skilled player until some guy shoots you in the back. That’s when you realize the perfect shot may never happen again.
It’s the most satisfying when you snipe a helicopter pilot from long distance or snipe a truck driver right before he runs you over. A perfect shot is not the only way to take out pesky vehicles but it will probably be the most satisfying.
6 Destroy Vehicles With C4
C4 kills are scattered across the Reddit page. Just today rainbowsieger killed two players in a row by placing C4 on a truck and on the road. The craziest moments are when vehicles are blown up in the middle of tense situations. Two squads are in a heated vehicular chase, no problem, just throw some C4 behind and watch the fireworks. It’s also a great feeling to set some C4 on a helicopter and wait for some unlucky soul to take it for a spin.
5 Ride On Top Of Vehicles
In a strange turn of events for a realistic shooter, players can stand on top of moving vehicles. It’s taken straight from Just Cause. This mechanic is a recipe for some crazy Warzone moments, though nothing compares to the craziness of Just Cause. Jackfrag’s video highlights more of the crazier things that can happen with this mechanic. One player is downed on the hood of a vehicle, self revives, then shoots the driver while standing on the hood. Another player parachutes on top of a moving vehicle then shoots the driver.
4 Kill Enemies In The Air
Unlike other battle royale games, Warzone lets you start out with a pistol. That means you can start killing as soon as you jump off the plane. It’s hard to execute but an ariel kill is always a satisfying moment unless you’re the one getting killed. If you’re lucky enough to be right behind an enemy while parachuting in, free fall and shoot. There are many different examples of ariel kills. Sometimes slamming into a skydiving enemy with a helicopter can be just as satisfying.
3 Destroy Helicopters in Unconventional Ways
The helicopters in Warzone are surprisingly fragile machines. They can also be an annoying way for enemies to find your location and stay safe during the last stressful moments of a game. Because of these reasons, players have found some unconventional ways to take them down. Erniss766 posted a video on Reddit of a Recon Drone destroying a helicopter by flying into it. A well-aimed loadout drop will also destroy an enemy helicopter. If you’re not feeling too crazy, the joker or continuous assault rifle rounds will also get the job done.
2 Redeploy During The Final Fight
Warzone gives players the unique ability to get back into the fight. Players get one shot through the Gulag but they can always be redeployed via their squad members. It’s always a hairy situation when you’re redeployed during the last few minutes of the match.
You have a tiny circle to fall into where an intense firefight is taking place. These combatants have strong weapons and you drop in with a lousy pistol. It takes a lot of skill to win from this position but it is possible.
1 Intrude On The Gulag Fight
The Gulag may be the best part of Warzone. It’s intense, blood-boiling gameplay. The onlookers of the 1 V 1 battles have found some ways to intervene. It can be as simple as telling your squad member where the enemy is as they watch from above. It gets crazy when rocks are involved. Onlookers can throw rocks at the combatants and even set off explosives with a well-aimed throw. This is the most fun and creative aspect of Warzone thus far.
