With an expansive world to explore in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the player’s horse, Phobos, is useful for getting to new areas at a faster pace instead of running a marathon to every location. If a player is going to be seeing a lot of Phobos, then why not make their horse look awesome as they race around Greece?

While there are a handful of skins for Phobos that are available to earn as rewards or to buy from blacksmiths in the game, most of the skins that will leave friends in awe and enemies running scared are only available as DLC. For those interested, here are some DLC Phobos skins that might be worth it if players want Phobos to look as cool as their character.

10 Pegasos

Yes, that’s correct. Pegasos is the name of this skin, not Pegasus, and players can get this skin from the Pegasos Pack in the Helix store. This skin creates a fitting look for Phobos, as the Pegasus is seen in quite a few Greek myths.

Unfortunately, Phobos doesn’t actually get to fly with this skin on. However, Phobos’s wings do spread out when the player falls while riding around, creating a gliding look that will be as close as the user can get to flying on their horse.

9 Tartaros Charger

Available in the Herakles Pack in the Helix store, the Tartaros Charger skin is one of the most intimidating available for Phobos. Its name references the location of Tartaros, which is seen in Greek mythology as one of the deepest, darkest places to lock monsters away in the Underworld. If this bull came from there, then it’s not to be messed with.

A few other Phobos skins involve turning an ordinary horse into a beast made of fire, but this one is one of the best. Not only does it turn Phobos into a bull, but it can look pretty terrifying when it’s running as if it will charge anyone in its path.

8 Sacred Deer

The Sacred Deer is included in the Oracle Pack in the Helix store and is a great pick for players who want a unique, majestic companion to travel with. Despite how most of the Phobos skins are about the same size, the size of the Sacred Deer’s antlers makes it seem much larger.

This size might be intimidating for enemies, but its general appearance might make players feel like it’s actually a loyal, protective companion. Too bad these skins don’t improve Phobos’s fighting moves.

7 Orphnaeus

If players purchase the Fate of Atlantis DLC, they’ll eventually come across a mission in the DLC’s story that involves finding Orphnaeus, a horse belonging to Hades. The quest surrounding this horse involves the player making a decision about what to do with Orphnaeus whenever they capture the horse.

Luckily, the player’s decision won’t change whether or not they can actually keep Orphnaeus at the end of the quest. Players will earn Orphnaeus as a mount no matter what, providing a horse that comes with major bragging rights as being a steed taken from Hades himself.

6 Acheilos

Some players might laugh at the sight of this skin. Others might think it looks pretty awesome and maybe even scary. Either way, players are sure to enjoy this Phobos skin that’s available from the Shark Pack in the Helix store.

The Achelios skin gives Phobos the look of sharp teeth around its mouth and a kind of sharp unicorn horn on its head. This combination is enough to make it clear that Phobos and the player themselves, are to be feared by those who cross them.

5 Equine Enforcer

Fans of the Assassin’s Creed series are sure to recognize the name Abstergo. Now, their technological influence can appear in Greece with the Abstergo Pack in the Helix store. One feature of this pack is this Equine Enforcer skin for Phobos that looks both futuristic and mysterious.

The armor definitely makes Phobos stick out in Ancient Greece. Plus, it might make the player wonder if this skin adds armor to a regular horse or if the horse itself is some kind of robot. It might be a little reminder that the Templars are always watching in the Assassin’s Creed universe.

4 Ghost

A few different Phobos skins look like a horse (or bull) that crawled out of a firey pit in the Underworld. This skin is one of the few exceptions while still clearly being, as the name implies, a ghost horse.

The Ghost skin can be purchased from the Helix store in the Celestial Pack, and it gives Phobos a bright and inviting aura while still looking eerie with its skull face. With a mane made of light and empty eyes, players must decide if this horse is really their friend.

3 Trojan Horse

This one should speak for itself about why it’s a great skin. Many people know the story of the Trojan Horse, and this is about as close as players will get to using it themselves. The Trojan Horse skin is included in the Odysseus Pack in the Helix store.

This skin does look a bit silly when thinking about Phobos could realistically move and be comfortable in it. After all, it’s clearly just a few wood planks tied to a horse with some rope. Still, the story reference makes this skin a fun addition to the game.

2 Cerberus’s Offspring

Here is another horse that’s on fire and looks like it escaped from the Underworld. This imagery is even further reinforced by the skin’s name, as Cerberus is commonly seen as a creature of the Underworld in Greek mythology. This skin is included in the Underworld Mythical Pack in the Helix store.

While this skin might look a bit too similar to other skins that involve fire, it still has a really cool effect with a kind of volcanic look with the dark crust around the firey skin. Cerberus’s Offspring looks like the horse might burst into a fireball at any moment, or that it might start to cool down eventually.

1 Sacred Bull

After seeing all the other skins, it seems pretty rare to see any bright and cheerful-looking skins for Phobos. Luckily, this is one of those skins. While the Sacred Bull can look dangerous if it’s charging at someone, it looks pretty friendly when players call it for help.

Players can get this skin from the Dionysos Pack in the Helix store. This pack’s name relates to why the skin is a bull, as Dionysos in mythology would sometimes turn into a bull.
