Well, it took two years, but Trails of Cold Steel IV is finally coming stateside this in the fall of year. The RPG, created by  Ys and The Legend of Heroes developer Nihon Falcom, was released in Japan back in 2018 – a year before the second game was even released in the west.

Trails of Cold Steel IV is the final chapter in the franchise, taking place after Rean Schwarzer, the protagonist of the first three games, disappeared. In his absence, his students must attempting to save the world from destruction as the powerful Erebonian Empire rests on the brink of all-out war.

The new game boasts the ability to summon giant mechs into battle, and also features an auto-battle mode that lets you breeze your way through combat if you ever find yourself in a situation where you don’t want to take the time to fight your opponents.

The exact release date has not yet been announced, and the fall 2020 release date is only for the PS4 version of the game. Players with an Xbox, Switch or PC will have to wait until 2021 to play the final entry into the series.
