Your Tropico 6 despotic regime is able to steal World Wonders from all over the world, providing your small island nation with permanent boosts. All you need to do is send your Pirates out on heist missions, with different Wonders available during the different eras.

Which wonder is best? Well, it depends. Each wonder works well with a specific playstyle. Stonehenge for infinite forests? Yep. Sounds good. The Eiffel Tower to keep your population brainwashed? Perfect! This list covers some of the best wonders, and why you should pick them ahead of the rest.

4 Best Wonders During The Colonial Era

There are two World Wonders that just stick out from the rest during the Colonial Era: the Brandenburg Gate and Stonehenge.

The Brandenburg Gate is what you should go for if you want political stability throughout the rest of your game. It basically prevents your citizens from becoming die-hard political activists, and they’re more likely to adopt moderate political views. This makes late-game political nightmares much easier to deal with.

Stonehenge is probably the top pick for a Colonial-era World Wonder. Why? It produces infinite forests. Literally. As Boats are one of the best money-makers in Tropico 6, having an infinite supply of wood is a benefit throughout each of the future eras. You can’t really go wrong with that.

The other options, Registan and Hagia Sophia do have their uses. The Registan of Samarkand provides higher educated citizens in the late-game, which is useful because they can be hard to come by. The Hagia Sophia means citizens will never die of bad healthcare - not bad, but remember that healthcare also makes your citizens happy.

3 Best Wonders In The World Wars Era

Things are even simpler during the World Wars era: go for the Eiffel Tower.

This wonder synergizes perfectly with the Brandenburg Gate. Your radio and TV stations will now spread all over the map, making spreading propaganda much easier, furthering your political power in the later stages of the game when it becomes more of an issue.

The only other viable option may well be the Moai Heads, especially if you’re playing on a map with a lot of separate islands and ship traffic. Really, though, it’s probably better to focus on building more docks for Freight traffic rather than foregoing the political benefits of the Eiffel tower. More ships are easier to come by, whereas the power of the Eiffel tower is hard to recreate without spamming TV and radio stations.

The other two options, the Taj Mahal and Hikone are less powerful. Taj Mahal gives you some income boost, but money isn’t much of a problem in Tropico 6, and Hikone is mostly military-focused, so only choose it during war-based scenarios.

2 Best Wonders During The Cold War Era

There are a couple of decent options here: the Colosseum and Statue of Liberty are probably your best bet for reliable wonders during the Cold War Era.

Why the Colosseum? Well, it provides a massive boost to fun and happiness on your island and reduces the need to build lots of other faith or safety buildings, which can take up a lot of space due to the sheer number you need to keep your populace happy. The Colosseum makes it so your citizen’s happiness is only based on their food and fun, rather than crime and safety. Why does the Colosseum become available during the Cold War era? We’ll never know.

The Statue of Liberty is an interesting one: all immigrants that arrive on your island have 100 percent happiness when they turn up and always approve of you, the El Presidente. It’s almost as good as the Colosseum, but not quite. Because you’ll eventually want to really get strict with immigration (otherwise your island will have too many citizens to support) the long-lasting effects of the Colosseum are probably more valuable.

Both the Great Sphinx and Saint Basil’s Cathedral are a bit less important: the Sphinx increases random event chance and improves tourism across the board, whereas St. Basil’s is purely focused on faith. Whenever your citizens gain faith or lose faith they will also have their other happiness traits reduced or increased. Can actually be a negative.

1 Best Wonders In The Modern Era

The World Wonders from the Modern Era of Tropico 6 feel a bit underpowered compared to the other eras, probably because your island is already set up by this point and any massive percentage changes might just be too strong.

That being said, both the White House and Neuschwanstein are decent choices.

The White House wonder reduces the cost of enacting Edicts and general running costs of various industries by half. This is a huge boost to finances during the Modern Era, but if you’ve established good production lines then this extra money probably won’t feel like much.

Neuschwanstein Castle is the ideal Wonder if you opted for a tourism-focused island. It increases the time tourists spend on the island and boosts the cost of entry. They will also spend longer on the island, spending more money in the local economy.
