Team SoloMid support Vincent “Biofrost” Wang will take a break from professional League of Legends for the 2021 spring season, the 24-year-old revealed on Twitter yesterday. This announcement comes just a few weeks after the team’s signing of its new support player, World Championship finalist Hu “SwordArt” Shuo-Chieh.
Biofrost has played under the TSM banner for most of his League of Legends career. The support player first joined the organization in 2016, eventually leaving the following year for CLG. After a two-year stint with CLG, Biofrost returned to TSM ahead of the 2020 season. The team finished fourth in the LCS spring split, and later won the 2020 summer split over FlyQuest.
TSM’s summer split victory earned them a spot in the 2020 World Championship, where the team was ultimately eliminated in the group stage after not picking up a single win. Following the event, long-time mid laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg retired, and was later joined by AD carry Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng.
TSM announced its signing of former Suning support SwordArt in a $6 million deal in late November. Biofrost’s future was unconfirmed at the time of the announcement, though the 24-year-old has now revealed that he will be taking a break from professional play for the spring season. He will instead focus on streaming, which he says he’ll do “almost everyday.”
Biofrost has won four LCS titles throughout his time with TSM, and competed in three World Championship events.
