Debuting earlier today, the Nintendo Indie World Showcase highlighted a number of brand new games coming to Switch this month and throughout 2021. Amongst the likes of Super Meat Boy Forever being announced as a console-launch exclusive and Among Us getting a surprise drop today, the showcase also focused on an exciting new game called Tunche.
The core gameplay sees players pick one of five playable heroes - including A Hat in Time’s central protagonist Hat Kid - with each character possessing their own set of abilities and skills. They’ll traverse over a series of visually rich worlds, battling enemies, making allies, and indulging in the game’s unique visual design. It will also feature local co-op, meaning players can team up as two heroes and take on Tunche’s jungle-based worlds together. The game already looks to be a lot of fun, so it’ll be interesting to see how it shapes up when it drops next March.
As for the rest of the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, a number of big announcements were made, with Spelunky and Spelunky 2 confirmed for Switch and tons of other exciting indie titles being announced for the console. Included in the highlights were cat-fighting game Fisti-Fluffs, an over-the-top chauffeur party game called Very Very Valet, and a relaxing cat cafe game called Calico.
Tunche will be available in March 2021 for Nintendo Switch, with PC and Xbox versions also in development.
