For all the kids too cool for Metroid, Turrican was always a fantastic alternative. It never really caught on with a mainstream audience, but its small and passionate fanbase has kept the franchise alive over the years. It’s the very definition of a cult series, really, and something that has a special place in the hearts of retro enthusiasts everywhere.

Now, Strictly Limited is bringing Turrican to the 21st century with a snazzy new collection. Boasting both Super Turrican games, along with a whole bevvy of bonus games and oodies, both Turrican Anthology 1&2 will be a veritable treasure trove for fans.

And it’s those fans that this anthology is explicitly pitched towards, as the sticker price on these suckers ain’t cheap. Combined, the Anthology collection retails for around €200, which is quite the pretty penny for Turrican in 2020. But those hardcore fans will get plenty to sink their teeth into, with artbooks, BluRays, soundtracks, and so, so much more. There are also standalone physical releases for the PS4 and Switch, though, if you’re feeling a little less extravagant - and both SNES games are even getting reprints for that platform.

Turrican’s a bonafied classic, and it’s great to see it finally getting the love it deserves with this modern release.

Neither Turrican Anthology has a firm release date, but you can preorder now.
