Twitch and SNK are teaming up to bring you 20+ free games all summer long starting next week.
If there’s any game company that’s still cashing in on nostalgia, it’s SNK. The Neo Geo console maker is still pumping out games based on their classic IP, and now they’re going to throw much of their library out there for free in celebration of Neo Geo’s 30th Anniversary.
SNK and Twitch Prime are combining forces to provide you, dear reader, with over 20 free games on PC. Once claimed, you get to keep them forever.
Starting on Tuesday, May 26, the first of three big SNK game groupings will drop. These drops will continue throughout the summer for a total of 22 free games that relive the classic arcade era for SNK, which generally ran from the mid-’90s to the early 2000s.
As for what we can expect in future drops, Twitch tells us that we’ll find Mark of the Wolves, The Last Blade 2, Metal Slug 2, The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition, Sengoku 3, and King of the Monsters. We suspect this to be the lineup of drop two, but we’ll have to wait until we receive confirmation later this summer.
According to the press release, all these games are for PC and can be kept forever, but it’s not entirely clear just what platform they’ll be on. Steam seems to be the obvious choice, but not all of these games are listed there.
