Leave it to the internet to make a competitive tournament out of a ridiculous game.

The ever expanding series of online gaming tournaments, Twitch Rivals, has just added a new game to its repertoire. The hilarious Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will be entering the fray as competitors and viewers alike have been begging Twitch for a chance to watch the chaos.

With more than 100 events scheduled for 2020, Twitch Rivals has quickly become one of the most recognizable and trustworthy locations for watching esports, and it makes a lot of sense. Twitch is the current king of livestreaming, and has always had a tight grasp on what’s going on in the gaming community, providing viewers with years of memories and contributing heavily to the culture of gaming around the world.

More than one million dollars in cash prizes are up for grabs across all Twitch Rivals’ events. Fans of Fall Guys will soon receive an opportunity to stuff their wallets, if they can outlast 59 enemies through a series of grueling, hilarious obstacle courses.

While it is unclear exactly how the tournament will function, it is likely that it will work similarly to some of Twitch Rivals’ battle royale tournaments. For games like Fortnite and Modern Warfare, players queue into normal matches and earn points based on their kills and placement. During these tournaments, it is highly unlikely that participants will actually fight against each other.

It would be interesting to see if Twitch Rivals could establish full lobbies of sixty players, as it would make the events much more competitive and fair when it comes to reducing random elements such as stream snipers.

It is always amazing to see how the internet can come together and create an esport out of a party game. While there is no official date for the upcoming tournament, those who want to participate can sign up on the official Twitch Rivals website. Fall Guys is not officially listed, but hopeful tournament winners can insert custom games that they want to receive alerts for. The game is a perfect match for the streaming service, with tons of hilarious moments that Twitch chat goes crazy for.

Fall Guys saw more than 1.5 million players in the first 24 hours of its release. This partnership with Twitch provides them with the opportunity to boost that number even more.
