Twitch streamer Byron “Reckful” Bernstein has died at age 31, as confirmed by his roommate. No official cause of death has been announced, but reports indicate that Bernstein committed suicide.

In the video game industry, Reckful was best known for his time playing games like World of Warcraft at a professional level. In 2010, Reckful participated and won a World of Warcraft tournament hosted by Major League Gaming, and was notable for being one of the top WoW players in the world. Following his esports career, Reckful became one of the most successful Twitch streamers on the platform.

Fans and friends initially became worried about Reckful’s well-being this morning when he sent out some concerning tweets. One read “ahh, I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with my insanity,” and in a follow-up tweet, he said, “please just know in these situations the insane person does not feel in control of their actions.”

Reports of Reckful’s death started spreading online, where it was initially confirmed by his ex-girlfriend, who goes by “BlueGoesMew” on Twitter. Some fans though that BlueGoesMew’s account may have been hacked, but streamer NymN then revealed that Bernstein’s roommate had indeed confirmed his passing. NymN added, “F*** everything about this year.”
