As Twitch continues to dish out bans and the gaming industry proceeds to crack down on inappropriate behavior, two LPL teams have now given fines to players. Invictus Gaming and Vici Gaming issued statements about the fines issued for inappropriate remarks.

League of Legends team Invictus Gaming has penalized support Su “Southwind” Zhilin for using “uncivilized” language and inappropriate remarks during his livestream that took place on July 11. The comments are reported to have caused negative effects within the streaming community and Zhilin was consequently fined 50,000 yuan (approximately $7,147). The news was translated by Kevin Kim of Korizon Esports and the statement was also posted on Weibo by Invictus Gaming. The team concluded the statement by apologizing to all followers and friends of Invictus.

The other League of Legends team Vivi Gaming also posted a statement on Weibo against jungler Lu ”Leyan” Rong for using tasteless expressions along with the same vulgar language that Zhilin got punished for. Vici stated that Leyan should be setting a respectable standard in the community as a professional player and learn how to control his words in a better manner. Kevin Sim also confirmed that Leyan was fined a month’s salary for his livestream antics.

These fines are not surprising to hear if you are followers of China’s LPL as news of financial punishment for players is quite common. Last month, eStar’s jungler Yan “Wei” Yang-Wei was again fined one month’s salary for forgetting to take smite during competitive gameplay. eStar lost 2-1 to Bilibili Gaming after the player picked the wrong summoner’s spell that cost them the series. Wei’s fellow teammates showed support for the player, however the team failed to recover after the mishap.

eStar’s first game concluded as a colossal failure because of Wei’s lack of a jungle item. Riot introduced a restriction regarding jungle items a couple of years ago that would stop lakers from exploiting them during gameplay. This effectively meant that if a jungler forgot to obtain smite then they would fall behind because of the lack of bonuses.

Invictus Gaming and Vici Gaming are both competing in the 2020 LPL Summer Split playoff spots and have achieved 7-3 and 5-3 so far. Vici Gaming will be playing against JD Gaming in tomorrow’s LPL broadcast that commences at 8am CT.
