The Regi line of Legendary Pokémon is gaining a couple of new members, as two new Regis are coming to The Crown Tundra DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield.

Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire introduced the three Legendary Titans to the series, in the form of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. These gained a trio master in Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, in the form of Regigigas, which is an incredibly slow but powerful Pokémon. The Legendary Titans have a strange connection to the braille language, as they have braille dots on their heads and players need to work out a puzzle using the language in order to find them in their original games.

The early trailers for the Expansion Pass content in Pokémon Sword & Shield showed off two new Pokémon that appeared to be Galarian forms of existing Regi Pokémon. The Pokémon Company has sent out an official press release (via Game Press) explaining that these are actually two brand new Regi Pokémon - Regieleki and Regidrago.

Regieleki is an Electric-type Pokémon with access to a powerful move called Thunder Cage, which deals a ton of damage upfront, followed by residual damage for the next four or five turns. Thunder Cage also prevents the enemy Pokémon from fleeing or being swapped out. Regidrago is a Dragon-type Pokémon with access to a signature move called Dragon Energy, which deals more damage depending on how high Regidrago’s current HP score is.

The two new Regi will be introduced in The Crown Tundra DLC, which is bringing back lots of cut Legendary Pokémon, as well as adding some new ones, in the form of Galarian versions of the Legendary Birds of Kanto. It’s unclear if these new Regis will have a connection to Regigigas, or whether Regigigas itself will gain a new form to accommodate for the existence of more Regis.

The Isle of Armor DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield will be released on June 17, 2020. The Crown Tundra will be released this autumn.
