Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price didn’t have to wait long to find a new team after getting released from the Los Angeles Guerrillas. Just a few days after he parted ways with his team, ACHES joined up with a new roster for the CDL Challengers League.

ACHES spent several months on the bench before the Los Angeles Guerrillas announced his departure on July 22. When he was released, nobody expected such a swift return to competitive play – and he reportedly had no plan to do so himself. However, he says he was approached by Michael ‘Spacely’ Schmale soon after leaving with the prospect of forming up a new team.

ACHES accepted.

“I haven’t been able to compete since February, so for the sake of something to do, and attempt to make some cash since we auto-qualify for finals, I figured it’d be fun,” he said in a Reddit post.

Alongside ACHES and Spacely, the new, unnamed team includes Michael ‘Apox’ Williams Christopher ‘ProFeeZy’ Astudillo, and Teegan ‘TcM’ McCarthy. Because of the team’s professional points, they will automatically qualify for the CDL Challengers finals.

ACHES was part of compLexity Gaming when he won the Call of Duty Championship back in 2014. Four years later, while part of the Guerrillas, he won the 2018 Call of Duty Championship.

There was some controversy after ACHES was benched by the team, especially since the Los Angeles Guerrillas continued to perform poorly while the two-time champion sat on the sidelines.

ACHES may prove rusty in the finals, since it’s been five months since he’s played professionally. However, his years of experience and the skills of his teammates may just prove to be enough to help the new team claim part of the league’s purse.
