Ubisoft has confirmed the release date for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla following a weekend leak.

The highly-anticipated title will launch on November 17 and will be playable on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. It will also support Xbox Smart Delivery, which qualifies folks who purchase it to play on the current-gen version of the Microsoft console for a free upgrade on the upcoming one.

A very recent leak saw said date revealed prematurely, with Valhalla’s Italian Instagram account posting a video showing as much. It was taken down pretty quickly, however, not before someone scored a capture and laid it bare for fans to speculate over.

Ubisoft, known for such incidents (Far Cry 6 a recent example) confirmed the title’s November release date during it’s Ubisoft Forward presentation on Sunday afternoon.

The reveal also featured gameplay, while offering fans a look at the female version of Eivor.

The game’s events are set in the 9th century in England’s Dark Ages, when kingdoms fight to gain control. Eivor is to lead a clan on a new path while angering King Alfred of Wessex.

Players will have the luxury of wielding some cool weapon combos, including two shields if they wish to. While they can take the pronounced, brash approach, Assassin’s Creed is known for its focus on stealth. There’ll be no shortage of areas to explore either, with a multitude of secrets available for discovery.

Fans looking to play the game on the inbound PS5 or Xbox Series X are likely still a bit unclear as to when they will get to do so. Ubisoft has made claims of the games being made available for the next-gen machines on launch day; that isn’t yet set in stone, though.

The holiday season is set to be a pretty exciting one for gamers. Apart from Valhalla’s release and the upcoming next-gen consoles, the mouthwatering launch that is Cyberpunk 2077 is also due on November 19 - unless of course CDPR experiences yet another delay.
