The upcoming Spider-Man Far From Home sequel was originally scheduled to release on July 16, 2021. But due to the current pandemic, Sony and Columbia Pictures have pushed the movie back until November 5, 2021.

It was only a matter of time before this happened, as the other Phase-4 MCU movies releasing around the same time as Spider-Man’s original premiere have already had their release dates altered.

The delay also stems from Tom Holland’s decision to finish working on his upcoming Uncharted film before tackling the still-unnamed Far From Home sequel. As such, Uncharted’s premiere date was once again altered, only instead of being delayed, it was pushed forward to take the Far From Home sequel’s old release date of July 16, 2021.

Sony also decided to delay the sequel of Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse. The company originally set the premiere date of the movie for April 8, 2022. But now the film will instead release on October 7, 2022.

Sony didn’t mention if any other complications aside from the coronavirus had anything to do with the movie’s delay. The film was only announced back in November of last year, so there aren’t many details available for it. But fans will probably be happy to know that it features Japanese Spider-Man.
