There’s a black market for everything, it seems, as eBay listings reveal sellers offering VALORANT beta access for as low as $50 and up to several hundred. The news is not much of a surprise considering that beta drops have only started trickling out yesterday and are completely random. A viewer on Twitch hoping for a key might spend weeks without seeing a key, so turning to an account seller might not seem like a bad idea.
Of course, this is a terrible idea in every way. The seller can eventually reclaim the account if they so wish, the action is certainly against Terms of Service and would merit a complete ban, and most important, keys are being dropped for free, continuously, for the foreseeable future.
So why does Riot not place limits or conditions on accounts, say for example, that they must be at least three months old? Well, for one that would limit brand new players who many only be discovering Twitch during this event. Second and on a more pessimistic note, Twitch can now brag that so many people tuned in for a chance to earn beta key drops, never mind that some of those accounts are from the same people hoping to secure a key.
Save yourself some money and watch some Twitch streams, these account sellers are the worst.
