Omen is an absolute blast to play. The sneaky VALORANT agent might be often underrated by competitive players, but his inherent trickery and stealthy mobility can make for some flashy plays. However, a recent glitch has been discovered by players – rendering the character completely overpowered.
The exploit essentially allows Omen to warp inside of map walls. From within, the agent can maintain vision of multiple crucial angles without revealing himself. If performed correctly, Omen can effectively control the game with unfair positioning in these power-spot. Redditor “u/Mikooboy” posted a clip that showcases the exploit, intending to catch the attention of Riot Games as soon as possible.
Clearly, these results were not intended by developers. As demonstrated in the video, Sage is needed to pull off the stunt; it takes a village to break a game. If she puts her ice wall in just the right spots, Omen can teleport on top of them and into the map. In certain areas, he can continue to move and even shoot through said walls.
Needless to say, the glitch is game-breaking. As if Cypher’s gun-wielding camera bug wasn’t bad enough, now Omen can truly become a grim-reaper of death. Teleporting outside of the intended boundaries of a game’s map has been an obsession of players since the existence of FPS titles, but for a game like VALORANT (which intends to be a competitive esport) – the glitch requires a permanent fix ASAP.
Regardless of exploits, Omen is still a blast to play in the manner that he was intended to. Yesterday, for example, a Redditor by the username “u/OVERLORDai” posted an impressive clutch with the agent. The player secured a round for their team, cleverly teleporting and using a teammate’s spike ping for vision through a smoke orb.
With any luck, the devs won’t just patch these particular spots, but they’ll find the core problem and permanently fix Omen’s teleportation issues. If VALORANT is to be the esport that Riot intends it to be, they’ll need to ensure that its competitive integrity remains intact. Considering how they’ve done such a great job so far – Omen’s exploit will likely disappear soon enough.
