VALORANT’s release is fast approaching thanks to a surprise update from the team, confirming its June 2 release date. That being said, many of us have already gotten a taste of Riot’s tactical shooter through its closed beta. If there’s one thing that the experience taught us – it’s that competition is brutal.
Mastering as many agents as possible and assembling a team of like-minded players is crucial to achieve success in VALORANT. Thankfully, there are plenty of subtle tips and tricks that can elevate your play. This guide will focus on utilizing Sova’s abilities to their maximum potential.
Sova’s main ability that deserves attention is his Shock Bolt. On the surface, his arrows seem simple enough to figure out. However, they have incredible potential if practiced correctly. Redditor “u/Fick_Platypus” has a fantastic post that showcases the power of his Shock Bolt.
As is shown in the video, Sova’s arrows have staggering range; he’s truly the Legolas of VALORANT… but Slavic instead of Elvish. Through custom lobby experimentation, players can figure out the exact angles/spots to shoot from in order to snag easy kills on unsuspecting victims. I highly recommend emulating these shots on Bind, first and foremost. Afterwards, apply the same logic to other camper spots on Haven and Split, too. With a few hours of trial-and-error practice in custom games (with a few helpful buddies) – you’ll find yourself getting free kills by using Sova’s Shock Bolts in no time.
Sova’s Recon Bolt can be incredibly effective if you practice your shots in a similar manner. Regarding his Owl Drone, have it breach a tough angle with an ally following close behind. They should be able to take out enemies who are distracted trying to shoot it down. His ultimate, Hunter’s Fury, has a wide AoE and can pierce walls, making it ideal for safely taking out enemies who are trying to plant the spike. At then end of the day, however, this is what true Sova mastery looks like (language warning).
Just kidding. But Redditor “u/ayeitspug” did a great job editing a hilarious mocktage of terrible Sova plays regardless. Brace yourselves for VALORANT dropping on June 2 in few weeks – and practice your Sova shots!
