Sova’s Drone in the team tactical first-person shooter game Valorant has been the source of frustration among its fanbase. The glitch in question has been discovered to cause game-breaking exploits across several maps, giving an unfair advantage to players who exploit it, taking the fun away from those playing fairly. Luckily, the game’s developer Riot Games revealed that it is aware of the controversy and is currently working on a fix.
In Valorant, Sova’s Drone ability allows it to travel a short distance quickly. This makes Sova one of the best agents that players can use to gather intel, especially since his abilities allow players to peek over corners and check whether there are incoming enemies without exposing themselves to gunfire.
However, some players have since discovered a glitch that sees Sova’s Drone going underneath the map and through walls instead of soaring through the sky as drones usually do. Moreover, this glitch also allows players to highlight every enemy player the drone sees, giving them an unfair advantage, making it less fun for those abiding by the rules. Of course, players exploiting glitches are nothing new, given that other online multiplayer games share the same fate, with the latest being Among Us and its infamous invisibility glitch.
After numerous reports from players online, the glitch finally made its way to Riot Games’ awareness. According to Valorant designer Rycoux, “we’ll look at fixing these for the next patch coming up.” Unfortunately, he didn’t specify exactly when the glitch will be patched up. However, given the negative impact that this glitch has on the overall gameplay, it is likely that fixing it is on Riot Games’ top priority.
Valorant is available now for PC.
