The Kindred are making the jump to the next generation of consoles, as Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is coming to PlayStation 5.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is the long-awaited sequel to one of the best PC games ever made. The game was originally announced for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and it was scheduled to be released in March, but the game was pushed back to an undetermined date in 2020.
It was revealed during the recent Inside Xbox event that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is coming to the Xbox Series X. We speculated at the time that the game would also be coming to the PlayStation 5 in the future. Paradox Interactive has confirmed that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be coming to PlayStation 5, though the game still lacks a release date on any platform.
Paradox Interactive has confirmed that the Xbox version of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will feature Smart Delivery, which means that people who purchase it on Xbox One will have access to the game if they purchase an Xbox Series X. Paradox Interactive’s statement didn’t mention any similar mechanic for the PlayStation 5, so it looks like Sony fans will have to double-dip if they want to own Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
It’s currently unclear what performance upgrades the next-gen versions of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will have over their PlayStation 4/Xbox One counterparts. We know that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be receiving story-based DLC and that more clans will be coming to the game in the future, so there is a lot of post-release support in the works. If the developers are going to be working on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 for a while, then it makes sense to bring them to the upcoming next generation of systems. The only question we have now is whether Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will launch on all systems at the same time, as we still don’t know when the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions will be released.
