The last thing you expect while playing a video game is to be attacked by an angry bird unless you assume the role of a green pig and decide to steal the bird’s eggs. Yet for Lynchy, an Aussie Gamer, a livestream became a fight for survival after an angry magpie hurled itself into his face.

Lynchy, who was quietly playing Valorant last Friday afternoon, was shocked when the magpie first flew into his room during the gaming live feed but was even more stunned when the bid slammed into his face. Interestingly, after the bird flew in, he kept playing, yet his session was cut short after the magpie circled around the room.

“What the fck. Oi, get out of here,” the 28-year-old gamer yelled at the bird. “There’s a fckin’ magpie in my house.”

The magpie is considered one of the most intelligent animals in the world, which makes you wonder if it knew exactly what it was doing. The Australian magpie, which is unrelated to other magpie species, is a fairly large bird, measuring 14.5 to 17 inches in length. An omnivore, the magpie will eat anything. Males are also known to become aggressive during mating season from late August to late November, attacking those who approach their nests.

Now, Lynchy, who appeared to be socially distancing at home, is unlikely to have disturbed the magpie’s nest, though we can’t be sure. The birds, which have been known to swoop at cyclists, resulting in loss of control of the bicycle and even death, are no joke. Some cyclists in Australia even wear spikes on their helmets to deter magpie attacks.

All of these facts seem to lead to one conclusion. We need a magpie game and perhaps Lynchy is the one to develop it. There’s nothing like hands-on experience to enhance gaming authenticity. We can only assume that after having a magpie slam into your face, there is no better way to release your frustration than by shooting down these birds from the comfort of your own home.

For those interested in perhaps witnessing another magpie attack, Lynchy usually streams FIFA and Fortnite around 8PM AEDT on Twitch.
