The season 4 theme of the Xbox exclusive free-to-play shooter Vigor has been announced. Called Warlords, it includes a new 5v5 game mode and several other new features and items. The Nintendo Switch port is also getting closer to its launch date.

Vigor is a third-person, multiplayer, shoot and loot game set in a post-war Norway, where 8-12 players team up as Outlanders in order to survive a harsh and hostile wasteland. With the new Season 4: Warlords update, developer Bohemia Interactive (Arma 3, DayZ) has added Elimination, a new 5v5 game mode, to the online military fantasy game. The Encounters game mode has also received a couple of new items: a signal Jammer and a Mortar Strike action. A bevy of bugs have been fixed, as well as plenty of feature tweaks.

According to the official blog post on the Vigor game website, Season 4 features Warlords, Outlanders who have armed and outfitted themselves with gear and weapons gathered from previous battles that have happened all across the wasteland. As one of these Outlander Warlords, players now have access to four new weapons: two Light Machine Guns (the UK vz. 59 and the M249), the Bugle F1 Assault Rifle, and the RM14 knife. Two specific uniforms have also been added, which include helmets, gloves, goggles, gas masks, and backpacks. And capping off the new character customization features is the ability to camo up with facepaints.

Thew new 5v5 Elimination game mode is a version of the Shootout game mode, but showcasing parts of the new Islands map. Elimination’s victory conditions are simple: players either have to capture an objective or eliminate the opposing team. The team with the most number of round victories wins the match. In order to facilitate getting players into matches at a faster rate, a new option has been added that will allow players to choose a pre-selected loadout for both teams at the start of the match.

In order to keep the Encounters game mode the primary focus of Vigor, the Warlords update has added two new items, the Jammer and the Mortar Strike. The Jammer will hide all map and compass features in a certain range for players who are too close to it. The Mortar Strike is an offensive artillery support tool players may call in to barrage a selected area.

Multiple other new game adjustments and items have been added, including HUD fixes, a Comm Station overhaul, additional Air Drop items, a new collectible item in the Shelter (lighters), and the new Armory Cellar, where players may collect and show off their weapons stockpile.
