During today’s Nacon Connect stream, the publisher announced that a next-generation port of hack-n-slash RPG Warhammer: Chaosbane is currently in development. It will be heading to the PS5 and Xbox Series X sometime in the future. If the game sounds like an interesting premise to you, it is presently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

We don’t know a whole lot else about what the differences between the current-generation versions and these new ones will be. It is safe to assume that anyone grabbing the title for PS5 or Series X will get true 4K resolution output. You’ll likely also see massively increased load times with the new console’s unique SSD tech.

As for whether or not you should be excited, the general reception around Chaosbane is somewhat mixed. On Steam, the overall user rating is “Mixed” and the score on MetaCritic is sitting around 69. That’s not bad, but you’re bound to find something better to play on your next-gen console this holiday.

The game was likely ported as a test for something new in the future. With so little information to go off of, we can’t even really say what the whole point is. If you’re okay with playing it at 1080p, just get the game right now on your PS4 or Xbox One.
