One of the best sniper rifles currently available in Call of Duty: Warzone is the HDR. There are some supporters who claim the AX-50 is superior, and a lively debate between each camp, so today, we are going to focus on the HDR loadouts that make it the most effective long-range killer.

For all loadouts, but especially sniper rifle loadouts, it is important to define the entire loadout, as even the choice of secondary weapon changes the gameplay mode so we will tackle a starter build, damage and ADS speed build, and a stalker scout build.

Starter HDR build

For a starter build, it is important to tackle a variety of situations a user may come across, but give players enough to work with prior to leveling all attachments up. Here we focus on unlocks below level 11

  • Tactical Suppressor (Muzzle) 26.9” HDR Pro (Barrel) Recon (Perk) Thermal Sniper Scope (Optics) 7 Round Mags (Ammunition)

Secondary

For those new to the HDR build, it is highly recommended you consider overkill so your 2nd weapon can be an SMG or Assault Rifle as you transition between long-range to medium and close range.

Perks

  • Cold Blooded (Perk 1) Overkill (Perk 2) Tracker (Perk 3)

Damage and ADS Speed Build

Once you have leveled your HDR through at least level 27, the below build helps give players a focus on damage and aim down sight speed (ADS).

  • 26.9” HDR Pro (Barrel) Tac Laser (Laser) FTAC Hunter-Scout (Stock) 7 Round Mags (Ammunition) Focus (Perk)

Here if you are getting more comfortable as a sniper, you might consider an Akimbo dual Renetti build. That said, if you have a different pistol leveled up, akimbo pistols of all varieties are incredibly viable close-range weapons that allow players to keep the ghost trait active. If you’re mainly playing in Warzone, you can also drop your pistol and pick up whatever you were using as your primary before the loadout drop, and have two primary weapons and the ghost perk active.

  • Cold Blooded (Perk 1) Ghost (Perk 2) Tracker (Perk 3)

Stalker Scout Build

This build is focused on stealth, and frankly, playing in Warzone. The monolithic suppressor isn’t unlocked until level 33 but is a key attachment on most weapon builds for Warzone if players hope not to signal their position to others. The Tac Laser requires level 27, but likewise, assists greatly with aim down sight speed. Otherwise, this build focuses on range and target engagement.

  • Monolithic Suppressor (Muzzel) Tac Laser (Laser) 26.9″ HDR Pro (Barrel) FTAC Stalker-Scout (Stock) FMJ (Perk)

For Warzone, we recommend an assault rifle or SMG (not in your loadout, but pick up in round or keep your prior weapon), unless you have unlocked akimbo pistols.

With these three builds, players should have enough information to become instantly credible as a long-range threat in Warzone’s sprawling Verdansk map.
