In this video, we find out just how deadly a helicopter can be in Call of Duty: Warzone.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s vehicles can be a lot of things. Sometimes, they’re death traps, as seen in this video here. Other times, they’re useful tools to get from point A to point B. And sometimes, they’re implements of destruction that are second to none.
We’re going to focus on that last category thanks to a new video from Reddit user Sniper1297. This video shows the importance of two things: getting on the ground before anyone else and the deadly nature of helicopters.
As with any battle royale game, getting your boots on the ground before your opponents provide you with a huge advantage. It lets you scrounge around for weapons and take them before enemies can do the same and it lets you set up ambushes.
It also lets you grab vehicles first. This can be an important advantage when it comes to navigating Verdansk, but it can also be an incredible tool for the early portion of a match. Here we see Sniper1297 prove this maxim using a helicopter.
First, we see Sniper1297 take an aggressive path during the airdrop that most would consider reckless, but Sniper1297 has a plan. They cut their parachute at the last second so that they can dive straight into a waiting chopper, the target of two full teams that had planned to fight it out with fists and pistols.
Only Sniper1297 had a different plan. Getting into the chopper first allowed them to spin up the blades and turn a harmless helicopter into a mass-murdering meat grinder. Since the opposing teams were all gunning for the chopper too, they weren’t able to redirect their course to avoid the spinning blades of death.
Five messy kills later, Sniper1297 chases down the remaining enemy using the blades of his now-mobile chopper. That’s two full team wipes in the first 30 seconds of a match. They may never see that kind of success again.
