Season four arrived in Call of Duty: Warzone last week, bringing with it new weapons, balance changes, and a revamped Verdansk map. Nakitomi Plaza is now under new management, while a whole bunch of satellites have crashed into Verdasnk offering courageous warriors the chance for unique Emblems, Calling Cards, and more.

It also brought several bugs, both new and old. Armored cargo trucks have already been removed thanks to a resurgence of the invisibility glitch, and now players are finding out about a new bug that has thus far flown under Raven Software’s radar.

This bug comes courtesy of Reddit user Rxelik_ (via Comicbook.com), who sacrificed themselves for science. In the salt mine, there is a previously accessible door that has now been boarded up with a wooden plank. It seems obviously inaccessible, so there’s no reason for a player to approach the door, but if you do, you’re in for a deadly surprise.

For whatever reason, running into the door kills you. Rxelik_ did it twice, and even with full armor, this door will down you in a single shot.

Why this door? Nobody knows. Speculation is that it’s somehow tied to the new Red Door system that was added in the latest update, but we have no idea, and Raven Software hasn’t updated the Warzone Trello board with this bug to provide any context.

To be fair to RavenSoft, doors are a well-known menace among game developers. Our own Kirk McKeand found this out the hard way while learning Unreal Engine, and Naughty Dog recently published a lengthy blog post describing the horrors endured trying to get doors to work in The Last Of Us Part 2.

So of all Warzone’s deadly bugs, this one at least seems to have some reasoning behind it. Doors are just plain hard.

And so is weapon balance, as the new MG 82 LMG is already angling for a nerf after just arriving in season four. We’ll see if RavenSoft patches up this door when they tone down the MG 82.
